Jude warns that salvation does require living moral lives, as described in the Commandments and elsewhere in the Holy Bible given by Almighty God. JUDE 1 This letter is from Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and a brother of James. I am writing to all who […]
What is it , that more than anything else, separates the Christian Belief from all others ?
Most frequent answers include the Cross, the Crucifixion, and the belief that Jesus was actually God.
Certainly, all of these teachings of the Church are important beliefs of Christians, and they can set Christians apart from those who have other beliefs.
Nearly everyone would agree that “to be” a Christian, means to follow the Teachings of Christ. Certainly that is true, and most churches teach what Christ said or did, but they also teach what the Apostles ( the early Church) said.
To be a Christian means not only to believe the Teachings of the Church, but more importantly , to know and believe the Teachings of Christ Jesus himself, and therein lies somewhat of a problem.
There are many teachings by Jesus, but they are often overshadowed by an emphasis on New Testament verses credited to other than Christ himself.
Saint Paul’s efforts to spread Christianity throughout the region, and his letters as recorded in the New Testament are a very important part of the early growth of the Christian Church.
However, from the time they were written, until today, Paul’s letters have often been mis-understood, resulting in incorrect teachings, and the wrong beliefs of some of many Christians.
About 35 years after the Crucifixion of Christ, Saint Peter , the leader of the Church, wrote this warning regarding Paul’s letters, in 2Peter 3:15-16 . Christians should be careful of those who teach primarily from Paul’s letters, and always confirm what they are taught with the Words of Jesus, as recorded elsewhere in the Bible.
A simplistic teaching of Salvation is often taught by taking a single verse in Acts 16: 31 out of the context of the entire Bible.
Acts 16:31 “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
This problem of mis-understanding the entire context of Almighty God’s Message, is compounded by the fact that many Christians rely soley on others, church pastors and clegymen, and the media for their knowledge of Almighty God, and the basis for their Belief, having rarely , or never, read the Holy Bible themselves.
